my eagle alloys look cloudy looking

my rims just dont look to good right now. they are hazy looking and i have polished them and polished them. is it my polish thats doing it, what kind of polish do you guys use.

ps i posted this ? in the detailing area but no one has replied

This may be a strange question but are you sure the wheels are not clear coated? If they are, an alloy polish will scratch the clear coat. Try going out and getting some fine rubbing compound in the paint section of your local automotive shop. It that brings back the shine, you likely have clear coated wheels and have scratched the finish. It's not as harsh as an alloy polish and may bring back some of the shine.

Do you have a black residue coming off on your polishing cloth? If not, then they're clearcoated. If they weren't you'd be getting oxidized aluminum residue on the cloth as you polished. Take Grant's advice, then, and try a mild hand rubbing compound next.

yes the cloth does turn black.
