I am new to the site so I hope you can help. I have a 89 LXI and it will not start. I was going down the freeway and it just quit running. I have checked for spark at the plug and it is o.k. I have checked the fuel pump and it seems to work when I turn the key on I hear it for just a few seconds. I also checked at the fuel rail and it has fuel and pressure.
I replaced the main relay thinking that was the problem but that was not it. It will turn over and over but will not start! Help!

Check the timing belt...

Took the the oil cap off of the valve cover and valve train looks like it is moving up and down. I think the belt is o.k. Thanks!

Looks like you checked all the things I would check. Next thing might be to pull the plugs and check compression. Check the fuses that go to the fuel injection system. Could be a fuel injector power problem. When you find out and resolve the problem be sure to tell us. We all want to know.

Checked compression and it is good. I also checked all the fuses that I could find that controled anything that might be associated with a fuel or ignition problem. I think you might be right about the fuel injector power problem but I do not know what to check and where it might be. Thanks.

The next thing I would check if I were you would be the timing itself. If the belt jumped, the timing would be off and it would not start.
