View Full Version : ne1 like the new R35? ne1 like the new R35? gtir_uk 02-20-2002, 03:35 PM well GTI-R's r as nice as the R34 but not as quick. ne1 know how much BHP the R35 has got? pherik 02-20-2002, 07:27 PM No engine specs released for the R35 yet, though there are a lot of rumours. One one hand Jap cars only ship with a max advetised BHP of 276 (though I belive R34 will actually come with 310 or so), so you could expect the same again from the R35. However there are also rumours that Nissan are looking to get around the 276 limit and are aiming for 400bhp. time will tell. Personally I like the look of the R35, sleak, smooth and has presence! Gonthrax 02-20-2002, 08:53 PM I'm ok with the looks, I suppose it's about time godzilla got a makeover. As for the secs not much is known as was said above, but from what I am able to gather that the 2004 release model will have 400+ps, also the suspension and perhaps chassis will be much like that of the M-Spec and the NUr editions. gtir_uk 02-25-2002, 02:01 PM :flipa: every person @ school h8s the car, so i think its much worse. about 80% i've told h8s that car and likes the R34. could ne1 tell me where i would get the stats of the new R35? Steven NiteskyR 03-04-2002, 10:07 AM yer www.nissan.co.jp gtir_uk 03-08-2002, 03:57 PM its known 2 b more than 300 bhp, and more than a 3 Litre? BIT SPOOKY do u think it would go on2 GT4? and do u think it would b good? :D Tom_S8 03-08-2002, 05:12 PM They are officially all 276 hp , but everybody know that all the GTOs , Supras , RX7s , NSXs and WRXs are a "bit" more actually , because it won't be possible to have so good performance with so "little" hp. My friend from Bahrain has an R33 , he bought it new , and stock it had 320 hp at the flywheel... so that's actually a fair "bit" more then those 276 hp it "should" have... Gonthrax 05-02-2002, 12:17 AM Originally posted by gtir_uk its known 2 b more than 300 bhp, and more than a 3 Litre? BIT SPOOKY do u think it would go on2 GT4? and do u think it would b good? :D Well Ghosn said they were aiming for he 400+ps range so that sounds good :D The engine will be a V8 of the Q-45 breed, now I used to be all agianst this, but me and NIF were talking (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t4338.html) about it and now I think I may like it. It will be a tamer version of the Q-45 that is used in the IPS cars. Now the selling point for me is whether or not it will lend it self to turboing. If so, I'll be more then glad to give it a shot. As NIF said, F1 and Cart cars use V8s. And Infinity makes lots of v8s for IRL cars :) gtir_uk 05-04-2002, 04:38 AM F1's use v10's actually! NIF 05-04-2002, 09:19 AM Corect, some use v-10's some use v-8's.:) NIF 05-04-2002, 09:28 AM I'm about to argue with myself. But I did some checking and none of the f-1 teams use a v-8 anymore. Can't remember who used to but I know some teams were for a while. Nonetheless the the 8 in the Skyline will be an interesting bullet.:aug2: Gonthrax 05-09-2002, 03:00 PM Originally posted by NIF I'm about to argue with myself. Stock hp is meant to be less than 276 hp, but like on the impreza 22B (amongst others) it will likely be way more, and Nissan will just lie. Anyway, can't wait to see wot the Jap tuning houses can do with that:) As far as the styling goes, i think it keeps the agression of the old R34, but maybe not quite as nice. A nice bodykit would work wonders on it. Wonko 07-18-2002, 03:37 PM I have a friend who has worked for Nissan in Japan for 8 years now. Something that Nissan haven't made a big thing out of (due to the 280hp regulation) is that the original design concept was to design an engine that would produce 1BHP for every 1 cm3 of engine capacity and a car that would cope with it ! This they managed with there prototype R32 engine and was mildly modified through to the R34. The concept was carried through to the R35 project. The R35 will be 3.5 Litre twin turbo (to match Honda NSX jump to 3.5L V8), which when tweaked will , I repeat will produce 3500 BHP as the R34 produced when tweaked 2600 BHP. I believe all these telephone number horse power ratings because I've driven standard R33s and R34s and have seen what my idiot friend at Nissan did to his. It was the cheapest facelift I can imagine, it only cost me a pint( £9 in tokyo, but still a cheap facelift ! The thing to watch for is the way the turbos are used in the R35 as each one produces more torque and hp than both units in the previous model. Opening the bonnet will be a bit boring on the R35 as about 200 seperate patents on the power and general engine management systems are now owned by the US government and the covering over the engine will stop you seeing a great deal. I am assured that the performance will be between 5 and 600 bhp off the forecourt. This will be one hell of a machine. I've got a year or two left with my R33 and I won't get bored ! Pennzoil GT-R 07-19-2002, 10:51 PM since i last posted a group of car testers spotted a heavily modded Nissan Stagea with Nissan factory plates (the Stagea often uses the GTR drivetrain), low profile tyres and tinted out windows, trying to avoid the press photos. The car had the distinctive noise of a supercharger, so their is now a reliable rumour in Japan that the GTR may be using a supercharger, or at least trying one out. Smurk 07-21-2003, 02:48 PM i suprisingly dont like it ,,,, it'll probly pack a fair puch but it looks like another new vectra Glennon 12-31-2004, 08:25 AM well i know im 16 but the thing is has the r35 got a look as a normal supercar, while the R34 is much rounder and has better aerodynamic? well GTI-R's r as nice as the R34 but not as quick. ne1 know how much BHP the R35 has got? I don't like them at all, the R34 looked amazing but the R35 iS a bit of a let down really. nismo_power 01-03-2005, 12:25 AM great job making up a chassis code for a car that doesnt even exist. its common knowledge the car will be the "nissan GT-R" now.
