Your thoughts! What would u do?Illport 10-26-2004, 04:40 PM im doing a swap into my 93 civic SOON, i mean. soon, im ready to buy! just wondering...b16a or b18c if i go with the cheaper b16a with 10 less hp, i will have more money left over to get a turbo. if i go with the b18c, it might be a little while b4 i can save the money to boost. so im just asking what u guys whould rather have....little bit slower b16a then boost sooner...or little bit more powerful b18c and boost later on(prob about 5-6 months later) keep in mind im only 18 and have a low budget. thanks nick GScivic7 10-26-2004, 04:57 PM save more money and go with a B18B and boost the hell out of it. Illport 10-26-2004, 05:07 PM thats what i was leaning towards! thanks alot! oh and btw...what turbo kit do u recomend for the b18b? and how much psi can i run on stock internals(as a daily driver) Beastiek2 10-26-2004, 05:10 PM :iagree: thats the wayyy to go. But if your on a tight budget you cant go wrong with the B16a. Illport 10-26-2004, 05:21 PM what turbo kit worksgood for the b18b in a civic? and how much psi can i run on stock internals(as a daily driver) GScivic7 10-26-2004, 05:35 PM RevHard kit is the best. A b18b is good for up to 12 psi with good tuning. Can take 10 psi all day every day 95dxcivic 10-26-2004, 09:02 PM Screw the gsr that I wanted. I now want a b18b for my civic. Beastiek2 10-26-2004, 09:21 PM ^^ LOL u tell em!! Illport 10-26-2004, 10:01 PM yea, i think for someone on a budget..the b18b is deff. a better choice Ace$nyper 10-26-2004, 10:49 PM well being there all with in a grand of each other if you shop around *you should* go GSR best for boost or allmotor. plus its the most potent outt what you pickd so it'll keep you happier longer in stock form. honda_luvr_2000 10-26-2004, 10:57 PM here are a few sites that have a few motors to pick from: www.jazzproparts.com www.nippon-motors.com www.jspecautosports.com they have a good selection and a fair range of prices and shipping. CivicSpoon 10-26-2004, 11:39 PM J-spec Auto sucks. My buddy got an h22 from them and the tranny was garbage (grinded and had a bad LSD that blew up). He also had a lot of broken parts on it. And they charged way too much for the motor. Just my opinion. Illport 10-26-2004, 11:48 PM anyone know of any salvage lots in ohio that might have a complete car? that i can take what i need out of. Illport 10-28-2004, 12:16 AM well, one of my buddies knows a guy selling his civic hatch with a b16a swap for $2500, for the whole car. I was thinkin, swap the motor from his to mine, mine to his, then resell the hatch and make a little money back. and have a b16 in mine...or is that 2 much work? would you do that or go b18b still? thanks nick CivicSpoon 10-28-2004, 12:20 AM I'd do it, it's almost the price of a full b16a swap, plus when you sell the car you'll have some extra $ to save up for a turbo kit if you go that route still. Illport 10-28-2004, 12:22 AM yea..im thinking about going with the b16 in the full car GScivic7 10-28-2004, 12:23 AM werd, go for it. You might be able to sell the car for the amount you bought it for. That would leave a lot of cash for you to turbo it. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
