Fastest Stock Car 1/4 Challenge

Take a Car no older than 10 years old In stock condition including street tires, Best bang for the buck. My top 3 cars for $6,000 Are 94 Camaro, 94 Firebird, and 94 Mustang...All V8 models = $6000 for a 13 sec 1/4 mile car. The only catch is your car will be challenged with the difference in price meaning you chose a 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX for 30000, The Challenging car...at 6000 get compensated the 24000 to upgrade to match price of the higher car.....so forget about the Enzo...Cars can be turbo charged or supercharged as long as that was a factory option for that year. thanks and good luck

as always i'd have to go with an older 93-94 camaro z28, they just have so much power and for such little money. Also maybe a 1993-95 mitsubishi 3000GT turbo coz they're as cheap as camaro's here and with the power they put down you've got 13's for under $5000 in my country.

You can also get a Nissan GTIR for around $3000U.S. and a skyline R32 GTR for around $5000U.S. here but they'd only be legal for racing not road use. but both cars run 13's stock and at such a low price.

in case you're wondering where all these cheap cars are, i live in the emirates by the way.

allthrottlenobottl
10-26-2004, 04:32 PM
u can pick up a 98 ls1 formula firehawk for about 8000 and run in the 12's if you can drive

sbackof
10-26-2004, 04:37 PM
lol never thought about a stolen car.....nice but they dont count ....and you would still take the difference in price of your m5..
Good thought on the 3000gt Im going to look that one up, the AWD helps that one alot with the weight of their bodys their about the same I think as an Fbody???.....The other 2 true..but they need to be a street car....Great BTW

Choose in your opinion the fastest street car that is the least amount of $$$ and is Stock.

Lol...they were turbo AWD cars....talon, eclipse, and Laser. Fast and Cheap.

As for fast in the quarter meaning faster everywhere else: WRONG. A RWD car that is a little slower then an awd wrx, will more then likely beat it past the quarter mark. AWD= Slower top end, yet incredible launching.

Whats the stock 1/4 on the DSM?....good price for a 94 at $5325

What year and 1/4 mile time for the EVO 3?

I paid $8500 for my '93 VR4. High 13's. Not that I totally get this thread. I'd probably take my old fox Mustang for 1/4 mile, high/mid 13's for like $4500 with the gears (but it's lightly modded, maybe that doesn't count).

alot of that info is inaccurate but on the whole it is a good list the zl1 corvette had closer to 500hp not 430,

Just choose a car you would pick up from a car dealer and go straight to the dragstrip and have the fastest time for the least amount of money

carrrnuttt
10-26-2004, 07:59 PM
alot of that info is inaccurate but on the whole it is a good list the zl1 corvette had closer to 500hp not 430,

At the bottom of the list, it says:

"The ** denotes that these were the factory horsepower ratings; these engines were usually highly underrated in the day, dyno tests have shown anywhere from 525 to 650 horsepower in stock form. Given the nature of this list, we get a lot of requests from people asking to add a vehicle or move one up on the list, we kindly ask the public to simply point us in the direction of an article in a major, non-biased, publication that has better test times to back up the claims, before adding, or moving any vehicle up in the list."

Reading...it's not just a sport anymore.

i think he meant just the quarter mile is less than being faster everywhere else as in faster through the corner, and the slalom.

YOUR CAR IS TOO OLD, and your comparing a price difference of a 94 to a 89, of course it will be less duh.

By comparison, here are some of the fast cars of that era:

1985 Vette (12/84) - 14.4@95
1988 Vette (5/88) - 14.3@95
1986 GN (4/86) - 13.9@98
1987 IROC 5.7 (7/86) - 14.5@95
1987 RX7 turbo (4/86) - 14.9@94
1986 300ZX turbo (6/86) - 15.2@90
1990 300ZX (8/89) - 15.0@93
1985 928S (5/85) - 14.7@94
1987 Supra turbo (4/87) - 15.0@91
1988 M3 (11/87) - 15.2@92
notice the 87 Iroc(Camaro) is 4 down and faster than both your 300zx of that era..... the 94 300zx weighs 200lbs more than a fbody and is rated with almost the same amount of hp....1995 Nissan 300zx turbo runs a 13.9 stock so...... and a 94 turbo will cost you 12635...so ive got you for $6500..........hope this helps

In 1998 Car and Driver had a 98 Firehawk in their magazine....so there was a 98 firehawk, but it did not get released to the public till 99 due to the delay of the WS6 from SLP. And Kelly blue Book value from a dealer is 9k for a 98 Formula with ls1

a used Yahama YZF-R6. less than 6,000. half the power to weight ratio of your cars. and will leave all non 100% pwerformance cars in the dust. with myself on the bike fullly gassed and liquified it will weight about 550lbs... lets say 110hp to the wheel (123 at the crank, not bad for a 600cc engine 205hp/litre) thats 5 lbs/hp. would anyone like to compeat?

nah do a check.. gm only did test ones so only a few manufacturers got about 2 or 3 just to do some tests so they never made it a production year.
