I realize i'm a newbie but i've done a lot of reading on what it takes on the importation side of getting a skyline over here. Now the legalization part is what i have some questions about. So far from the crash tests we know some of the basic modifications to do such as the relabeling, lights, resealing windshield and so on. So i'm assuming that the main problem are those unknown modifications for the side impact the fueling modifications. Now my thoughts are this, why could you not build a ten point roll cage, ad some reinforcement beams into the doors, use a fuel cell, braided lines, the dash still raises a problem, but could just fabricate a new one from sheetmetal with the proper gauges. i guess what i am asking is if the "modifications" have to be a factory derivitive or can they be custom but equally capable of fufilling the standards. maybe my thoughts are completely retarded and i apoligize if this has been covered before. i just was thinkin that dune buggy is nothing more than a big tube frame and some bars and a cage also makes race cars legal in extreme circumstances, so why not here. any input would be greatly appreciated. i apologize once again if this is complete and total stupidity.

You are not dealing with a kit car. This is a mass produced vehicle which the DOT knows about. Simply trying to cercumvent the process isn't going to work.

And you must be aproved by the gov. to do modifications, Which are more than what you have stated. There is only one way to have this car in the US and it has always been MotoRex.......Sorry.
