Exhaust leak..AIR tube

Background...2000 S-10, 4.3L. For the second time in about 6 months, I need to replace the stupid rubber 90 deg. elbow that connects from the drivers side exhaust manifold to a the metal pipe that (If I remember correctly) runs under and to the AIR injection pump. Just for clarity, there is a metal outlet from the manifold, runs to a check valve, then turns down via a short rubber tube to a metal one. The original lasted until 6 months or so ago when it became brittle and cracked. This one (GM part) did the same thing, only in 6 months! Is this a common problem with these? Its easy enough to replace, but very annoying if I'm gonna have to replace this thing every 6 months now!!

The part should be covered under warranty.

Take it back and get a free one.

All GM parts have a 1 year warranty.
