Dealer servicing

Normally whenever I take my camry-96 for regular servicing to the dealer, he always recommends a large number of items. I am not sure they are needed or not. I have a lingering doubt that the dealer is trying to over sell the parts and servicing to me. How do I check it out. An interesting side note. The same dealer offered a free bumper to bumper checking (free). I took it and to my surprise, he gave a perfect bill of health.

1. Should I take my 96 camry to the toyota dearer for all servicing?
2. Is there any other alternative (R&S Strauss etc.)

Thanks

Sorry bud, but IMHO you’ve already spent enough on the dealer, so why not follow the same route and give him more of your hard earned cash….? How do I know it’s hard earned? – you wouldn’t be driving a 96  If you want an honest estimate on what you really need ask some friend relatives anyone you trust with their judgment (sorry you’d have to look around for that) and find out what independent garage they use. Go there and don’t volunteer any info that dealer gave you, because you don’t want to test how honest they are but want to know what is to be fixed….
