Okay, I need everyones help...
As of today I have started building a P10/G20 kit from scratch(almost)
I already decided that the front will closely resemble a Pulsar GTIR, because of the large intercooler hole.

The reason for this post was not to bullshit, but really ask everyone for your input. Positive/negative, I don't care:D I want everyone to tell me what the P10 should really look like. If the finished product is one of quality, then It will be made available. That is if, and only if everything somehow works out:eek:

Please, don't send me pics of crazy shit(rice) The goal is to give the G a really clean look. So tell me what front, sides, and rear are (IYO) the best-est in the whole world.

Thanks for your info,
Damian

My idea for a good body kit is

Touring Front
M3 sides
Buddy Club rear without the square side pieces that hang down funny.

it would look like this:

http://www.automotiveforums.com/scalemodeling/pman/CalP10x1.jpg
http://www.automotiveforums.com/scalemodeling/pman/CalP10x2.jpg
Of course, it'd be 24 times bigger:D . Its not an eye-popping bodykit, but its classic. I believe those sideskirts are the same as those on the stock USDM and non-USDM P10(its kinda hard to tell for sure just looking at the model). The front and rear bumper covers don't look very much different from those I've seen on non-USDM P10s, but it does have an IMPUL decal, so I'm not sure. Anyone know if Nissan sold any street model Primeras with kits like that? I've seen lots of G20 bodykits(e.g. Aerotech, Erebuni, Ninjacar, etc.) but the only kit I'd realistically consider putting on my car is a JTCC-type kit or just a non-USDM stock-type kit like this:
http://www.g20style.com/images/p9084.jpg

Looking at some Pulsar GTI-Rs... thats a sweet looking front end. And the body of the car is basically the same as the Primera past the passenger compartment(thus the compatibility of the G20 with the GTI-R SR20DET?). Definitely goes well with the FMIC. Could be challenging getting one of those bumper covers to the states. I'm faced with the same challenge. Maybe I should just move to Europe :hehe:. Although, if you could get your hands on a kit from a junker(cut in half for easier shipping) it would be relatively straightforward to make a copy that would fit your car.

P.S.: Thanks to Warren(primera man) for the photos of the Tamiya Calsonic Primera JTCC.

Kheetar, thanks man that is exactly the feedback I need. The clean look is definitely a must. I failed to mention that I will be carving the entire kit out of foam. This will be a challenge, but my secret weapon is my dear old Mom:D She awsome at woodcarving and has agreed to help with making sure everything is symmetrical. I will have all the materials I need from my fiberglass shop by Mon.

Notice the smooth line underneath the headlights, now thats clean. I wonder why the P10 isn't the same?

Just confirming that apart from the wheel arch flares, that Calsonic P10 has a factory kit as supplied on the Te Primera.

Those sideskirts and rear are sweet! Where can I get these? Hey PRIMERA, isn't that your car in NinjaCar's website? They said that they were looking into producing sides and a rear, is this true?

LOL that kicks ass Damian! :ylsuper
The color scheme is reminiscent of the Castrol Primera JTCC, at least the side mirrors, rear wing, and windshield shade. Is that what inspired you to paint your mirrors red?

I gotta admit, I thought you were crazy when I saw your new, red mirrors. But looking at the whole package, its pretty badass. Definitely unique. Keep up the good work!

I myself was considering painting my car Calsonic Blue(right now its beige with tan/mauve interior:apuke: ). But I don't think the interior color would go well with blue. Tan would work, but the mauve color wouldn't, and I'm not about to do another interior job. So now I'm liking the metallic green color the Castrol JTCC is painted. Actually its kinda funny, 'cause back in high school I got my '70 El Camino painted the same color. The fate of my G20 is still uncertain, so the cosmetics will probably have to wait 'til after graduation.

BTW Anybody know where to find a "PRIMERA" windshield shade? Those are dope!

British Racing Green is a great color. Someday I'll get a car in that color.

id try to make one that looks like the nismo kit or impul for the P11. i know a lot of you are against copying, but honestly, i think they would look great on the P10.

You know, I don't have a big problem if you break out the 'glass' and make your own kit by hand from scratch. You can make it look like whatever you want. I have a problem with the guys that get the bumper, make an exact copy and start busting out a crap load of kits and undercutting the cost of the original maker.

Glass can't stand to much abuse becasue it will crack easy in impacts, but it is cheap and easy to make

Urathane is much better at holding up to bumping agianst curbs becasue it will bend rather than crack, but for low production runs it is too costly to make a mold.

I think p_r_i_m_e_r_a should make it out of kevlar. Same idea as glass but will bend all day long. That is why bulletproof jackets are make out of the stuff. The bullet hits the fabric and just streches untill the bullit stops.

I agree about making an exact copy, but disagree about taking ideas from them.

Yea I agree also....with everyone:hehe:

I pick up the foam tomorrow and start the process, but as of tonight I am still doing alot of drawing.
I'm undecided over the following things:
1 should the "mouth" of the kit have depth. If you look at the red Pulsar bumper I posted, you can see what I'm talking about.
2 should I keep the sides of the front-bumper "non-agressive" and straight. This means no gills, scoops, ect.
3 should the side-skirts be "easily streetable" or just plain stupid slammed:smoker2:
Something i've been playing with:

for the sides, make it so you can make it over big bumps :p just make it around the same height off the ground as the front.

My preferences would be to keep it subtle, not overly agressive.

Subtle can be very effective (i.e., BMW M3, M5). Just make it different enough to catch attention instead of screaming "LOOK AT ME I'M ORIGINAL"

:)
