My daughter's car is a 96 Civic DX. The check engine light came on and we had the diagnostics checked. The result was O2 sensor. I looked and found the manifold cracked. I heard through the grapevine that the car is under an extended warranty dictated by the government due to bad emmisions design. Does anyone know about this and is the manifold covered?

I've heard that there was a recall about that issue, the manifold cracking. I'll try to see if I can find a link...

I couldn't find anything about the cracking, but I know I've seen something posted on here about a manifold crackign and being under warentee. Hopefully someone will be able to help with a little more info. Otherwise call up the local Honda dealership and ask them about it. But that really sucks, it's clearly a problem.

I have seen this alot on all the forums i go to..They are having alot of problems..Ive seen alot of them problems with the manifolds from the lx and dx..I havent really looked into warrenties on it..Civicspoon seems to be reading up on it tough hope you get it figuered out..Later.
