does tooth paste really work for polishing the paint on model car bodies?

also, out of all the different types of polishing compound out there, which one is the least abrasive?

thanks

The finishing compounds are the least abrasive i.e Meguires Scratch X, Tamiya 'Finish' compound and Hasegawas Ceramic compound.
When you polish the car you start with a mild abrasive and work through to the finer ones. If you start with too fine a compound though you might not get the surface free of orange peel.

Minty fresh breath or a shiny paint job, hmm.... I choose the Shiny paint

i start with 3m rubbing compound, followed by kit scratch out. if the orange peel is serious, i start with 2000 grit sand paper

I use Meguires Deep Crystal System. It's a wax with abrasive. 1 month after the paintjob, it make the body look very nice

I use grits 2400-12000 followed by 3M compound then wax (I use "the treatment").

Try 3M Finnese It or Perfect It. Good stuff!
