is it worth it?Cacophobia 10-24-2004, 12:38 PM ok, i'm looking into buying a 92 Civic CX Hatchback... There are a few problems and was wondering what you guys think... -Its the original engine and it has 244k miles on it. -It needs a quart of oil about ever month. -It needs a paint job, but not horribly -Theres minor rusting on it -The back quarter panel has been replaced because the guy ran into it with his dirtbike -Only one of the back windows have been tinted -Leather interior, but it has rips This will be my first import, and i don't really know much about them...i have a friend that is willing to help with everything cuz he loves hondas, but i was just wondering if it was a good car to buy for $750 because i drive approximately 250-300 miles a week, so i was looking at it originally for its gas mileage. LET ME KNOW!!! thanks .:Caco:. Civic_D16Y5 10-24-2004, 12:48 PM with 224k on it, i would say if you get it, get an engine rebuild, or swap it for ALOT more power, so right now ur buying a hunk of metal that says civic on it for 750, because that motor is more than likely gonna die soon Beastiek2 10-24-2004, 02:07 PM Thats alot of miles to be driving every week. Which means you would want somthing reliable. This car dosnt seem like somthing i'd count on for driving those kinds of miles every week. Its a good car but has high miles and seems likes it burning oil. This is a good car to work on if you wanted to get into speed and performance. An engine swap would be the first thing you would do. But your talking upwards of 3 grand. Now if you were gonna waste 3 grand on a motor, you might as well buy a car worth that much if you have no interest in swapping and hooking this car up. But the price is very good. I'd buy it, see how it performs, and see if Dumbling more money into it will be somthing worth wild and enjoyable. - Goodluck 93weed_eater 10-24-2004, 04:31 PM I'd def buy it as long as it wasn't my daily. drop a swap then drive it everyday. NerveAgent 10-24-2004, 05:40 PM swap and daily it. cndctrdj 10-26-2004, 09:51 AM wow you guys have no faith in older hondas. i just bought a very similar car its a 92 cx white hatchback 5 speed mine has 200k on it and i bought it as a daily driver cause my TA wont like the snow vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
