To buy or not to buy?value of 91 cherokee sporttbone47129 10-23-2004, 03:27 PM I have a chance to buy a 91 cherokee sport with 145,000 miles on it. This guy selling it doesnt know shit about cars.He wants $350 for it.He said it has electrical problems. From searching this site I found out He disconected the fuel pump resister when he unhooked his alarm. The white thing about a 1/2 inch wide by 4 inches long on the drivers side fender is the fuel pump resister isnt it?Besides that it has other problems. It needs a pass.door window, the front windshield is cracked bad,the back hatch wont close,it has 2 ,2 1/2 inch rust holes on each side on the rocker panels, and the front fender has a big dent in it that can be knocked out.The paint is in great shape.and the interior is in good shape.so it it worth $350.I know nothing about jeeps,But i have been told they are expensive to work on.Is that true? Thanks,Tim aikahi118 10-24-2004, 03:27 AM i bought a 87 cherokee for $800 bucks it runs great if theres not any major mechanical problems and if you can do minor things your self(fluid changes) go for it. i hear if you change the fluids on a regular basis they will go for ever Saudade 10-24-2004, 11:38 AM Guess that depends on how much work you can do yourself. Go to www.kbb.com (http://www.kbb.com) to get the Kelly Blue Book value. Factor in what you'll pay for parts and/or labor to fix the things it needs. Then decide. Unless you buy it for parts. If the rest of it is as good as you say, you can make your money back and more by parting it out, if you have the time and storage space to do so. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
