2003 Suburban won't runDeAnn 10-23-2004, 02:38 AM Hi, hope someone has a clue to this: 2003 Suburban - purchased brand new, current mileage is 14,500. Only driven to transport children which means alot of starting thru the day for short trips. Took son to work earlier, everything running fine, nothing unusual going on. Go to pick son back up and the 1st thing I notice is the clock is lit up along with the intstrument panel "before" I opened the door. Get in, turn the key, its slow to start coming around, head lights took too long but nothing seemed dim. Turn her over and it fires but thats it. Nothing else. Key still onwhen engine stops trying, battery light was still on too. Tried to turn off interior lights but it appears to have reset itself, states Im an unknown driver and will not allow any further selections. Not much else is working, seats won't reset, locks won't work, nothing on the doors work at all. Engine oil life reads % and nothing else, its all messed up. Ahhh, but radio will come on (???) . I got the charger out but am apprehensive about charging it as Ive never seen this before on a vehicle. Anyone with any suggestions or unfortunate experience with this? Yea, Im still under warranty but I don't trust dealerships. Coincidentally (or not) the vehicle just had an inspection at the dealer 3 weeks ago. Thank You! Make a complete documentation of all the maladies and take it to the dealer and tell them to hook up thier diagnostic equipment and DRIVE it until they find out the problem and FIX it. Tell them you don't want to hear a word from them until this is done. DeAnn 10-23-2004, 10:31 AM Sounds like an Electronic Control Module or a PROM malfunction. Thank you so much for the info!!!! utahawk 10-24-2004, 01:19 AM Would be interested in knowing what you get resolved on this issue. Keep me posted. :) GMCMudBogger 10-26-2004, 07:21 PM I've heard of factory alarms going berserk and causing similiar problems as the system disables the vehicles ignition, It will need to be reset by the dealer. Not real sure of the years affected but I'm sure someone on this list knows or has also heard of this. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
