00' accord driver's side door won't unlockjustagrl00 10-22-2004, 10:29 PM Help! I turned my car off and the driver's side door wouldn't open. I didn't crash or anything it just stopped working. I tried sticking the key in it from the outside, pulling up the lock thing etc., but nothing works. I'm almost afraid to take it to a shop because I'm a girl who doesn't know much about cars and i'm afraid to get screwed. Can anyone please shed some light on this problem? I read some posts about other cars of earlier years and not sure if the suggestions apply to mine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Like suggestions on how to fix it myself or an idea of how much it should cost. Thanks!!!!! mpumas 10-22-2004, 10:48 PM Does the key turn when you put into the lock? Does the key work in other doors? justagrl00 10-22-2004, 10:57 PM ^^Yeah it turns in all the doors (eta: it is a 2dr). It even moves the lock on the driver's side but the door won't open. It moves the lock but it doesn't actually unlock - I guess. mpumas 10-23-2004, 12:26 AM The door panel has to come off to see what is going on. Maybe the lever the connects to the door lock slipped off. But the fact the key opens the other door normally is a good sign. justagrl00 10-23-2004, 12:45 AM Thanks for your help. Taking the panel off sounds expensive. Do you have any idea how much I might expect having to pay? TIA mpumas 10-23-2004, 02:32 AM I would expect no more then one hour of labor, approx. 100.00. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
