Best Engine for 93 Accord EX

I am going to be getting an Accord EX in due time, and one of the first things I want to do is a swap. I was thinking an H22A would be perfect out of a 93 Prelude VTEC, and I found a decent price ($2,500 w/out installation).

Is there anything better I should shoot for? My long-term goal being 250-300 whp. I've pretty much got all the parts I want figured out, but would there be a better engine I should use? (Like if you heard that H22As break down a lot or something)

My 5-year plan is going to cost around $15,000-$20,000 without a turbo kit, (I plan to go all motor for awhile) and it is going to be showroom quality.

Any help is much appreciated.

H22a is the best swap for the accord. 250-300 whp is goin to be really hard to get that kind of number in the N/A class.

Really? Well, 300 definitely will be difficult, but will 250 be that hard?

I eventually plan to put like a T3/T4 on there with one of those beautiful FMICs, and I know I can break 300 easy with all that.

I mean, an H22a is like a 190-200 HP block right? Exhaust, underdrive pulley, new cams, intake, headers, and thats raising the hp fairly nicely. That is without a few other minor mods. But that should put me fairly high correct?

If there is anything else you can think of that I should do to the N/A block, let me know. I'm still a newbie, but I need to learn to get out of that stage.

One of my friends suggested an H22A4....but I didn't even think those were out / existed. He said its like a 220 HP plant...but I don't know.

Thanks for the help!

The h22 your friend is talking about is the TYPE S motor. Not worth it. It just has higher compression and better cams. It needs alot of work just to see the 250 whp range. Go to www.importbuilders.com (http://www.importbuilders.com) and you can get an idea from them. When you go turbo...its basically unlimited. You can reach 350 whp like nothing...with proper set up and tuning of course.

I answered this already on the other thread but

a6 and b2 are your head codes, b22 is your block code...same block so the head should fit...no the wiring is likely not the same you may even need the ecu from the one with the a6 head...but your only gaining 10hp and 3ft-lbs on torque so is there really a point in doing this?
