I have a 91 240sx and the sun roof is leaking. I went to the dealership and they said I have to buy the rubber weather stripping with the window for the sun roof. It was like $592. Does anyone know where I could get just the rubber strip that goes around the window? If not, does anyone have a suggestion on what to do to stop the leaking?

Caulk the damn thing shut.

Honestly at this rate I'm probably going to do that. I already have rust coming up from under the paint on top by the sunroof. If I could afford it I would have a fabricator take out the sunroof and replace the whole roof. Or just that section including where the sunroof is.

can't you find a new sunroof? is it the sliding sunroof or the pop up one? Usually you can find a used sunroof for like 50 bucks

It's the sliding kind that tucks into the roof. I haven't gone to junk yards yet. But I don't want to spend money on something that will still leak.

i have the same type....I would try to find out how much for the weather stripe at a junk yard.

can you like use silicone to fill in where the striping is cracked? I am just guessing though, mine does not leak :) and thats what i would have probably done if it were.

\Hay I have the same sun/moon roof. Mine leaks because of the pan underneath the moon roof. the pan is cracked and instead of the water collecting in the pan then channeling out, it drops right on my crotch! Not a good feeling especially when the boost kicks in. all the water shifts to the back and wets my crotch. It sucks but at least my girlfriend thought that I was very happy to see her when I picked her up!!

The solution is to tap the freakin thing up till the summer season!!! Keep it a ghetto sleeper. Mine is (the tape lasts along time!!!)

Get a thick tape, the wide one that is used to tape boxes etc

go to a junk yard and try and salvage one that would work till tha next time it leaks prob investment of about $5 lol
