Chronologics Request of the abbreviated "R"sFire999 10-20-2004, 12:16 AM Hi Skyline Enthusiasts! I am relatively new here so forgive me if this thread is seemingly newbish in your eyes. As I was browsing for days on the topic on the generations of skylines that have progressed till date, i seem to have come across 99 models that were both R33 and R34. (<---is this correct? as far as i know, 98-99 was the year R34 abbreviations were introduced) Thus, I am requesting to those who are already so familiar with the chronologics of the manufacturing dates of Skyline models to give their expertised "2 cents" on the ever-presently-so-confusing abbreviated "R"s that represents the skyline models (ie. R34, R33, R32). Thanks in advance. Cheers, Fire999 Amril 10-20-2004, 09:26 AM Off the top of my head the R34 (non GTR) came out when the R33 GTR was finishing up so I'd say your hearing correctly ZZII 10-20-2004, 10:58 AM ALSI: 1957-1963 S50 1963-1968 C10 1968-1972 C110 1972-1977 C210 1977-1981 R30 1981-1985 R31 1985-1989 R32 1989-1993 R33 1994-1998 R34 1999-2001 V35 2001- GTR_driver 10-20-2004, 11:27 AM Just like in '94 the R33 came out, but the R33 gtr did not come out till '95. RazorGTR 10-20-2004, 11:48 AM Just like in '94 the R33 came out, but the R33 gtr did not come out till '95. Actually the first R33's rolled off the line in 1993 :) jmrev 10-20-2004, 12:36 PM :2cents:some of the GTR's of the same gen. would still be sold even if a new gen.skyline non-gtr was introduced. Ex. like RAZORGTR said...in 1993 the r33 was introduced, but the r33 gtr didnt come out till 1995, in 1993 the sales of the r32 gtr were still going on, while the r33 was introduced. Hope i didnt make it confusing for you. ZZII 10-22-2004, 11:13 AM My post yall can rely on...i got the info from the nissan web site. Moppie 10-22-2004, 10:10 PM Actually the first R33's rolled off the line in 1993 :) My post yall can rely on...i got the info from the nissan web site. Your both correct. Japanese manufactors like to release a model around september the year before its actualy due. So you can refer to a car by its model year, or its manufactored year. So officaly the R33 was released for the '94 model year, but it infact went on sale in very late '93. Quite why they do it I don't know, but its common thing, Honda and Nissan however seem to be really really bad at it. jmrev 10-22-2004, 10:13 PM there is a thread at the US forums that goes in detail. SKYLINEUSA put it up, it is in the stickies. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
