What's a 79 Trans Am worth?

My son bought a 79 Trans Am last year. The body is clean (no rust/Ariz.). It has a small V8 (smaller than a 350). The interior is a little rough but not torn up. Auto trans, AC, original wheels. He bought it from the original owner. It's white and he ordered it with no bird on the hood. Does anybody have an idea about what it's worth? Any help is appreciated.

Here is a link for the 305 but the base price is with the 301, Also these are Retail Dealer prices in Excellent condition take this under consideration.

Edit- I saw the pricing info didn't come through but there is the site so you can put the info in to get a quote on what its worth.

What is the 5th symbol on the VIN?
VIN A is the Buick 3.8
VIN Y and W are for Pontiac 301
VIN G is for the Chevrolet 305
VIN R is for the Chevy 350
VIN Z is the Pontiac 400
VIN K is the Oldsmobile 403

I'd say between $3000 and $4000

It really depends on the condition, I think in 79 they sold the most T/A's of any year...So fit & finish suffered...It was also the last year of the 6.6 big block...The 301 V8 was not very sought after, as its very under powered...However, its great that its been in Az. its life...
Good luck/skill...
