04-14-2005, 06:21 PM
Lol your interior and engine bay are funny, soooo many colors! You should get some MSD wires, would make your engine bay even more colorfull!

04-14-2005, 08:15 PM

04-15-2005, 12:41 AM
Stealth, how hard was it to change all your tubes and so forth in your engine? Did you buy a dress-up kit like the ones sold on 3sx to do it? Also, how did you change the underdash area? Was it professionally done or did you do it yourself? Awesome ride bro!!!

04-15-2005, 12:50 AM
Thanx :) It wasnt too hard dressin up the engine. I got most of the stuff from autozone. most expensive thing was the steel braided covers for the radiator pipes an such. all the painting was done when i had to replace the motor. it took me bout a week to get it lookin like that, but that was only bout 4 hrs a day. all the white in the engine bay, believe it or not, was completely brown. it took me a long time to get it white, i even had to use sand paper..... and what do u mean by changing the under dash area?

04-15-2005, 12:57 AM
Well, your interior is different. I mean, it's partly white and looks awesome. I was thinking of doing something like that too but then decided that it would be too expensive to have it professionally done or would not look right if I did it myself. Also, did you paint everything yourself after you sanded everything down? Oh yeah, back to your engine again...hehe...were your tubes actual tubes that you replaced or was it just a covering that you used to cover up the actual tubes? I really like it. Hehe :p I'm plannning to do something similar but have blue, polished chrome, and of course black as my engine bay colors.

04-15-2005, 01:03 AM
it was just the wire covers. the silicon tubes were too expensive :) but the pic ur talkin bout with the white on the dash was somethin i edited. but ill prolly never do that to it. right now i have a lot of the stuff stripped out, and im tryin to find some gauges for it. but check it out again in a week or so. after i get the gauges its just a matter of me puttin back all the stuff that i have been painting the past couple of weeks.

05-08-2005, 06:02 AM
My most recent pics from when I washed the car a few days ago. Didn't have time to wax it :(

05-09-2005, 12:11 AM
I like what you've done with the lights

05-09-2005, 01:22 AM
I was thinking the same...what did you do there IM2Fast?

05-09-2005, 03:37 AM
They were actually done like that when I bought the car. Previous owner had them painted like that. I like them alot actually. But some idiot only left 3 ovals on each side in the back and completely painted over the turn signals. The delership had their place "fix" it once we realized, which basically meant they scraped the paint off and made a fourth oval on each side, so the outside ones are a bit scuffed when you look up close. Just makes me wonder how long the previous owner drove it with no rear turnsignals.

P.S. I'll try and take a few nights pics tomorrow night so you can really see what they look like.

05-10-2005, 10:35 PM

05-14-2005, 03:53 AM
and just for fun

what happens with two 3/S TT owners get together with their daily drivers . . . . one goes drifting on a muddy trail and gets stuck in the ditch while the other one has to pull him out.

one of his rear wheels was stuck in front of a rock and the other one wasnt even touching the ground. Had to get a running start to pull him out lol.

05-15-2005, 08:45 PM
the glow gauges i have can only be gotten off ebay, and ralli-art makes them. bout 30 bucks

05-15-2005, 11:45 PM
lol , heres my car when i got it...

...Sexy eh?

05-16-2005, 10:30 AM
I dunno if I ever toldja stealthmodifier, but I think your car looks like one of those bad ass transformers.

05-16-2005, 09:45 PM
lol, thanx? deffinetly a transform from what it looked like before.

05-17-2005, 04:52 AM
yeah man, has deffinately come a long way there. I'm not a huge fan of your spoiler choice...but still looks great.

05-17-2005, 11:26 PM
yea, i was thinkin the 99 spoiler if i ever went to take this one off.. i still gotta cut 3 inches off each side cuz it looks like it hangs over that much on each side from lookin at it from the back.. what is it about these spoilers that people dont like? is it just the aluminum in general? i think it looks bad on stock cars. but with a body kit an such its looks good.. but it kinda matches the rims too :)

05-17-2005, 11:43 PM
I think it just looks to wide.

And the fact that a spoiler on the back of a FWD car is kinda stupid :P

05-18-2005, 06:51 AM
for me i just don't think it flows with the sexy curves of our car.

05-18-2005, 09:36 AM
I think the spoiler looks fine. And try driving a Mirage w/o a spoiler at highway speeds :\

05-18-2005, 05:31 PM
Aluminum wings dont look good on any car in my opinion. Also I am with GritMaster on this. The point of a spoiler is to create downforce on the rear wheels. Thats not something you want to do on a FWD car.

stfuad not having a spoiler on a Mirage wont hurt it at highway speeds. As said you dont want downforce on the rear wheels of a FWD car. It actually harms performance and handling.

StealthModifier, if I had your car in its current state I would look into either the 99 VR4 wing or the 97-99 hoop spoiler. You wont regret it if you loose the park bench.;)

05-18-2005, 11:34 PM
maybe thats y i lose a lot in races.. damn wing is pullin me back :) im gonna cut it down as soon as i figure out how.. my dad has a hand held ban saw.. maybe that will work.. but i didnt put the wing on for down force, it was jus the look i am goin for.. i have the idea of a 99 wing in the back of my head. but how much could i get one for an how is it mounted?

05-19-2005, 10:37 AM
I say go hoop spoilers, IMO they're better lookin' than the 99 VR4 wing, I know 3sxperformance sells em, but I heard they're over priced

05-25-2005, 02:35 PM
sorry bout the quality of the pics, i took them with my phone.this is my baby about a year ago, she's out of commision for the time being, i'm having alot of problems with her, but i'm gonna stick it out, i have alot of plans in store for this car.

had a quick question as well, is this just custom modding or is this a body kit somewhere?? where can i get it? cause i want it, it looks hella cool!

05-25-2005, 09:52 PM
yea, they sell that kit.. i cant think of the place off the top of my head.

05-26-2005, 12:44 AM
Its right in the picture.;) Its a Kaze rear bumper. Very hard to find and very expensive.

05-26-2005, 03:10 PM
figured it'd be pretty expensive if it looks that hella cool. i'll look around for it, i'm not one for body kits, but i do want a `99 front conversion kit and a viper hood. that bumper will be a great way to tie off my car.

ok, did some searching...found the site
these people are in a good way. but if it's 80,000Yin...and the number next to that is 84,000. how exactly does this convert to american. oh my god, i want alot of stuff on there! argh, i need to rob a bank...can i say that? oh well. i'll start my own charity organization for my car. i'm accepting donations as of now. L8RZ

05-26-2005, 05:54 PM
80,000 yen is like 750 USD. not to unreasonable.

05-27-2005, 05:23 PM
heres my baby with some new stuff on it

05-30-2005, 01:33 AM
How do you know what part they are selling in each picture?

Some are identical pictures but they are listing different prices for different parts. I don't know about you, but I cannot read that stuff. I like that front bumper though. :grinyes:

06-01-2005, 06:52 PM
the only front bumper i like is off the 99 models, i want to save up and do a conversion on my looks bad @$$!

06-20-2005, 01:16 AM
thought i'd inform all of you about an update on my car... <chuckles to himself>

here she is...her good side! oh, but wait, it seems a little bit of her ass is exposed! whoops, she should cover up...

ya...where'd the ass go? do not worry, rear bumper is perfectly fine: it was ripped clean off by the tree <wink wink>. all i have to do is drill some new holes in the plastic to remount it.

ohhhhhhhhhh!!! there's the best part! that's where i caught the tree sliding now sideways/perpendicular to the road. the tree definitely slowed me to a stop once we hit it, did a 270, then came to a halt. quite a ride...lemme tell ya! don't think i'd wanna do it again though...unfortunate expensive lesson. And what lesson did i learn? ...that my rear suspension was TOO TIGHT. since i last ventured the curvy blind cornered park roads of Lake Buchanan outside Austin, TX a year ago, i have added beefier front and rear sway bars and a rear strut tower bar. i think the strut tower bar over did it--at least for this turn--as my rear end was soo stiff it slid out from the back; an ever-so-slow fish-tail.

and i can't let this little dent go unnoticed. this is what happens when you hit those dinky little metal reflectors from the side doin about 50mph. i saw the metal reflector afterwards...ya i definitely won!

but good news! this piece/panel is bolt-on! so no welding involved in the repair (which means i'll do it myself). However, for the unfortunate rear panel, its all welded in. so that's where the body shop comes in. ya, there goes all my future summer earnings. but she drives just fine except that the pummelled fender occasionally scrapes the tire on bumps.

so one final adieu to my damaged but still chugging batmobile...

don't worry, now i always park to try and show the right side, the good side of her.

so let's all give estimates as to how much you think it will cost to repair my ride...

(hey talskin, you wanna earn some money and weld for me?)

06-26-2005, 02:27 AM
Im guessing well into the 3-4k range good luck.

06-28-2005, 03:08 AM
Sucks man, sorry to hear that.

07-05-2005, 03:25 PM
Im guessing well into the 3-4k range good luck.

you'd think so! well i got an initial estimate from a trusted body guy of around 2,000. then i after i got all the parts i needed and installed a new front left quarter panel (sandstone gray -- but close enough to black), i got another estimate from another guy who works on dealerships' cars. $915!!! just the labor since i have all the parts. woohoo! so i'm working to pay for that, and it will probably be even less than that b/c i'll do some of the little things myself.
