View Full Version : Hard Water removal. Hard Water removal. 4ss4s1n 10-18-2004, 04:51 PM When I got up the next morning,I noticed that the top of the car was completely faded. It had this really dry film on it.Looked kind of hazy. The areas inluded were the hood, bumper, trunk, and the top of the car. The doors, fenders and the whole sides of the car were ok though. Anyways,is this hardwater, and secondly, how can I take this off? I washed the car as soon as I noticed the large spots but they didnt come out, then I polished a small area but I saw very little improvement. Will I need to clay, remove some clearcoat? I'm trying to do this as quickly as possible so it wont get worse. Thanks. koeb$ 10-19-2004, 01:25 PM hardwater is touhg, u can tryin to buff, polish then wax. obviously u r gonna wash and clay the car before u do that, but u should see some major improvement potsdamcartel 11-16-2004, 08:17 PM this is a old thread but i eh i had some water spots that wouldn't come out, so i went online and found some detailing guide that said to use vinegar(sp). tried it, and it worked. of course your going to have wax the areas you used it on, but its better than the spots. 4ss4s1n 11-18-2004, 04:02 PM Thanks for the info. But I already solved the problem. The good folks at meguiarsonline really like to help people out.For anyone else wondering how to solve a problem like this,go to this thread... http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3653 And whats the deal with these "Related Links" ads?
