Just would like to hear everybody's comments on the new Tacomas. I like the bigger engine. The front grille and the interior will have to grow on me - I guess!

The '05 grille looks like a mix between the 01-04 grilles and the 98-00 grilles. What do you mean the grille and interior will have to grow on you? The recent interiors are outdated. These new interiors make it more enjoyable to drive, and have more eye candy. And FINALLY, at the year 2005, CD deck is standard, and no more cassette deck. Took long enough...

I love the new look and the fact its larger.... Im going to have to go look at one thats for sure. I currently have a 99' and love the little truck... My wife even loves it and I was talking to her the other day about the new Tacoma's and she said she wouldnt hesitate buying another one. We bought this one used, I think it had 13k on the odom. and it now has over 101K and we have had 0 problems and only 1 brake job done on it but I think its that time again.

i like my truck as well, its an x-cab but it isnt enough room for kids to set in the back, unless they are small. i tried getting back there to clean my windows, actually i got back there but had problems getting back out. and im also going to go to a toyota dealer to check one out.

I like it which pisses me off. I have a '99 which I love and it's payed off. I always said I finally found a vehicle that won't break down and will last me a long time. And now they come out with a bigger Tacoma!

Blah! Although those wheel wells look a bit odd.

That is an awsome design and I like the dash board, car and driver gives it the nod over the dodge dakota (putting it mildly) the only thing that I don't really like is that just like my wifes 04 honda accord it doesn't look like there is a whole lot of flexibility on putting in aftermarket stereo's, and one thing that im looking for from the aftermarketers alpine sony pioneer to come out with is a deck that takes the same kind of memory stick that they use in personnal mp3 players instead of a cd that could get scratched up.

I think Toyota screwed up one of the best designed and best looking trucks on the market with this Nissan Frontier wannabe. ughhh, that grill is terrible. If I was going to buy another Tacoma a few years down the road, I would search for an '04. Sorry if I piss anyone off. :puke:

Don't know why ya think it would irritate someone but toyota is always going to change the way there truck looks so it can compete with the market. As far as looking like a frontier wannabe? that's a pretty cheap lookin truck to compare to a toyota, the only truck design toyota came out with that I didin't like was the 98 to 00 setup, it looks as plain as the 90 Ford F-150 front end.

not wanting to get anyone mad but i think the all the tacomas under 2003 were just uglyz and small. i love the 2005 look the inside is diff. but thats how all cars are starting to look like. I really like how the 05 is so much bigger. but i dont like the x runner

I beginning to research the Tacoma. I've been to Toyota's website. If anyone can recommend links to help me get up to speed, I'd be grateful. I'm especially interested in the reg cab 4x2. The '05 looks sharp, and it's bigger, but I'd like to look at the used scene before I consider new. Thanks much.

I like the regular cab also. But I want the prerunner edition. If you're buying used, then how old? Because Tacoma's are in the list of the top 5 vehicles that hold their value. So buying a used Tacoma a few years old won't cost much less than a brand new '05.

True. And I noticed on Toyota's website that a 4x2 reg cab taco starts around $13,880. I think I can hazard about $16k on this purchase, which means an '02 or an '03 is possible.
