transmission fluid overfillhowru 10-17-2004, 09:24 PM I replaced the transmission fluid on my 2000 camry 4 cyl recently. However, I found it was difficult to set the fluid level in the proper range. It seems I have overfilled it (about half inch higher than upbound) . Does it really harm? Do I have to run 10 miles before check it? It looks I cannot recheck the level immediately after I fill or drain it, so it is really difficult to adjust. Help! Thank you so much! Brian R. 10-18-2004, 01:01 AM Check it when it's hot after having shifted through all the gears slowly and with the engine idling. If it is overfilled, pull the drain plug and let some out. Then check it again. No need to wait once it is warm. If its low, add some through the dipstick tube and check it again immediately with the engine running. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
