A few days ago I found my dash light not working - all the other warning lights and indicators worked fine but only the dash light was gone. I went ahead to check the fuse box by the driver's side (I took the fuse controlling the dash light and other things and checked including when the engine was on and put it back), and finally took out the instrument cluster by myself. Nothing was wrong about the circuitry or bulbs. In the way of putting things back my friend pointed out that actually I had my dash light dimmed accidentally. I was embarrased but still felt happy since the problem was solved and I learned how to disemble the instrument cluster.

But the thing won't work this way. Now I found that my SRS air bag warning light won't go off! It used to light up briefly when I sart the engine, then it would go off. But now it stays on all the time. I read the manual and it only tells me to go to the dealer. Considering the things I've done, I guess I may have touched something during the repair, and maybe I should be able to fix it myself. CAn anybody help me on this? Thanks!

BTW the photos of the repair are here in case it can help you to understand what I did.

Nice photos. Are you sure that the plugs were pushed in all the way when reinstalling the instrument cluster? Also, did you disconnect the battery before doing this?

The SRS is something you don't want to fool around with unless you know EXACTLY what you're doing. You don't want to be anywhere near an accidently deployed airbag. :headshake The SRS system uses the bright yellow wiring harnesses throughout.

You could try disassembling the cluster again and reassembling to be sure everything is proper. Other than that, I'd have to say bring it to someone like a dealer to check the SRS system on a diagnostic tester to find the exact location of the problem.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
