Who has had any problems with there mitsubishi longterm and short term? Anything?? It would help me and every one else considering the evo VII. I know it will probably produced in japan (read that on another forum) wil that too have an affect on the quality? Are anyother mitsubishi model's built in Japan, and have they had any problems? The stock lancers go pretty well, after a year or so you may need to change the clutch but nothing to major, or some minor engine component. My mate has had a '95 GLXi and it still goes, he put in a new engine last year and its even better now, btw its done 400k+

So thus, the EVO's would do much better due to more refined technology and stronger tuffer onboard equipment. Also if you look after the car it will last you longer.

The Moderator is right about the clutch. It's the only component that is well known to fail quickly - that's because it just can't handle the power 24X7X52. Also, the windscreen, thin and light to save weight for the all important power/weight ratio, tends to crack easily also. So better get it laminated from day one with a quality third party film such as Vkool.

I'm sorry I don't understand? what screen are you talking about the windshield or the screen in front of the intercooler? or am I still wrong?

Its the windshield. Over here we call it windscreen. It's the front windscreen. Its very thin.

As an aside, we call trucks lorry and the trunk, the bonnet or the boot.

if you're buying an american spec Evo VII when it comes over, you won't have to worry about the windshield. the U.S. has specs as far as windshield thickness, so they're going to have to put on a thicker windshield.

also, are there any good quality stronger clutches out there for the Evo VII?

When ACT finally gets their hands on the EVO, they'll fabricate something good... I've had great experiences with ACT clutches in my eclipse gsx... though it might be a bit too heavy for some, its just perfect for me... :devil:

I talked with one EVO VII owner who has the following problems at 6000kms. Clutch died, brake rotors are warped, growling noise from rear end. Sounds like typical mitsubishi problems to me, nothing new. Lets just hope the transmission is not a complete piece of junk after 20,000 miles, but what can we expect from a $25,000 car?
