My 98 528 has no sound. It is like it has been muted. Any ideas? How do you remove the radio head?

Try Disconecting The Battery Once.........

Then Check That Stereo Unit Is On, Press The Phone And Other Devices Buttons, And The Again The Radio.........

If This Doesn Help...........check The Trunk On The Left Hand Side, Removing The Panel Youll See What Is An Amplifier Or A Booster, Try Cleaning Any Conections There..........

Hi there,

I have a 535 e39 and I have a similar problem.
My radio seems to shut down after about 10-20minutes. THe radio stations no longer appear on the tv screen and the amber light next to the volume goes off.

I have to switch off the ignition and wait some time then when I restart the car the radio and audio in general work again, for approx 15mins then shuts off again

Any ideas what's going on and how to fix.
