had a question for you guys. i was just looking at the new chevys and i seen that theres a monte carlo ss. when did this come out? a superchagered monte that is. i know they alway had a ss. i never paid close attention the the Montes. does anyone have them, if so what you think of it. thats a supercharged 3.8 that 240 hp right

The current model MC SS debuted in model year 2000 along with the redesign. However, it didn't get a supercharged V6 until the 2003 model year when Pontiac allowed Chevy to use the engine. The Series II 3800, produces 240HP stock when supercharged. As a side note, the supercharged Series III 3800, found in the 04 GP, produces 260 hp.

I haven't driven the current MC SS, but, if it had been around in 2001, I would likely have that instead of the 2001 GP I drive today.
