Complete system rebuild . . .

I want to completely revamp the braking system in my car.

Without having done any research to know if it'll work or if it's feasable, I've decided on what I want:

Larger rotors (slotted & drilled) at the front of my car . . . with some combination that'll result in brake hardware that overall is more powerful, and yet much lighter than the stock setup.

I want do create some ductwork for cooling of the brakes . . . particularly the front . . .

I want to ditch the ABS TOTALLY . . . I want all of the components out of the car . . .

Who could I contact about this? Is there a brake specialist somewhere? Or would I have to look for someone that might have done work on the braking for race cars?

Please advise

For braking systems check out:

http://www.brembo.com/

or in particular:

http://hp.brembo.com/brandlist.asp?ECSShopperID=CHT0SD4305QA9L6X8H28XL9 UQKSC5MNE&LngCode=ENG&sCurrency=USD&PrCatID=3&CatID=20&CatMemID=839&PageNumber=1

although I only see parts for the newer G20s. You may have to call to find out more.

Another good one is Baer/Alcon:

and of course Wilwood:

But be ready. A good set of calipers will run you at least $1k to get in the door, and over $2k for the "middle of the road".

Simplying pulling the fuse will disable the ABS on most cars. To completely remove the system will require a fair ammount of work though. You have to remove everything, then redo the plumbing. That can be pretty difficult since you are dealing with the hardlines.

To duct the brakes you will need to either remove dust shield or modify it. You can high temp flex hosing, or even buy used brake ducting from race teams. You want the duct to be aimed right at the middle of the rotor so the incoming air goes though the vents so the rotor is cooled evenly. Just pointing it at one side of the rotor will warp it. For even more cooling you can run a second duct to the caliper, although that is probably over-kill.

And why would you want to disable your ABS? That's almost certainly going to increase you braking distances and will definitely increase the chances of losing control of the car under braking.
