I know the Scion tC is about 3g's cheaper around 16,ish and the civic Si is about 19,ish. But how about overall preformance and handling.

performance the civic should take it, all i know is i drove the tc, isn't the best inhandling (not like i know how to prove that) but its weight distrubution is like 67/33 or something... not that good, also its heavy.. i say the civic SI

The tC is a better value, and it quarter miles better than the Si, but the Si definitely handles better...and yes, I've driven both. I'd go with the tC, because the feature content is unbeatable and I'm loyal to Toyota, but the Si is a better sporty car.

W/ the supercharger and the rear sway bar option, the Civic doesnt have any advantage over the tC.

i wonder if there are any advantages to either cars we dont know about. like how good the engine is, cause the protege racecar required a lot more modifications to its internals to achieve the hp to compete. i wonder how well the tc would do in world speed challenge, is that what its called? the civic si is in a class with the rsx, is300, and others like it. for now though, id go with the tc.

I don't know, I think the Si does it in about 16 flat and the tC does it in mid 15's...

Never driven an Si but I have driven the Tc and I have to say I was impressed by it.

you could probably put 3000 worth of upgrades into the tc and get similar handling. plus, i've heard that the tc interior is nicer.

Scion tC...the new Si is nothing like the last...it's a weak attempt by Honda which doesnt happen often...

You have driven like every car and your still in friggin high school! damn im jealous...and yes the SI's right now aren't great but this is still an economy car...and it looks like the scion is faster, but I have seen civics handle corners really really well, new and old...still haven't actually seen a real Scion (Canada)

Just cuz the current Si sux doesnt mean you couldnt make it great...

We are just waiting for the tC aftermarket to develop suspension and other go fast goodies

it'll be soon, i hope by the timei get the tc in 06 there'll be enough so that i can start messing with the car and the trd aftermarket

Yeah, the civic will have the better aftermarket for now. I'm sure that with your basic boltons you can easily beat the tc

Please swap the Civic Type-R for the Si before comparing them...the Si really sucked...
In compare, the 1999-2000 Si is far better of a machine made by Honda.

well its just too bad they don't make a civic type R for everyone in the US huh? its also too bad tey dont make the scion tc in anywhere but the US, so because hes looking for an 05 in the US lets stick with the normal comparo

Well, most of the cars I've driven were on serious test-drives. My parents are fairly rich, and when I go car shopping, I'm extremely thorough. The only noteworthy cars I've ever driven were a Lancer Evo (drove it almost every day for two months) and a Porsche Carrera 4 (didn't drive it fast, obviously).

The scion CAN put a supercharger on, and now that doesn't suck anymore.
Also, comparing a 2.4L I4 160hp to a 2.0L I4 160 hp sounds like a good comparison? :uhoh:
