Sure, there are manufacturers that make engines alone. The only thing I dont care about that is, why should you pay in excess of 25 bucks for an engine while you can kitbash it out of a revell for 10? So if I were you I would look for an inexpensive kit to take it out of or a last resort might be to buy a resin one. Hope this helps!

That could be done but would be difficult. The F20C is an inline engine, rear wheel drive. So the transmission would be directed towards the rear axle. However, the B20 is lateral, front wheel drive with the transmission to the side. Modifying that engine would be hard because it is metal. Just to forwarn you, but it can be done.

Engine doesn't choose how it's mounted. You can put a longitudinal engine in the transverse position, or vice versa. For example, the street NSX's engine is mounted longitudinally on the race version. Also, 3S-G can be found in that setup, too. You just have to find a way to put the transmission, exhaust and intake of Revell's B16/18 on Sakatsu's F20 kit. That will be a killer CR-X. Of course, you can put Tamiya's NSX engine in the mid-rear of the CR-X (think of Renault Clio V6). Now, that's a badass.

To answer my own question.... Just came accross an NSX made by Tamiya with complete engine detail. And I wasn't even looking for it, it's like it came to me. Are we meant to be together?

Then again, it's just a plastic model engine too. My hobby shop carries a few race nsx's that I will eventually buy one and make a widebody street version with a street interior.
