Anyone own one of these?

I got a mailing form my local Chevy Dealer to come look at 2005 cars and trucks with some huge advertised incentives. I love my 2003 Silverado and had not considered trading it until I got this advertisement. When I called the salesman that I have dealt with in the past he hinted around that they were ready to cut a deal on one of these 2004 Gibbs Racing Silverados... basically giving away the Gibbs racing package ($8000) and selling the truck for sticker... I think I can work on them though!

I'd appreciate opinions of owners that may be here or friends of friends who own one... the trucks look really sweet and are supercharged to 395HP... I'm going to test drive later today or tomorrow, should be FUN!

they are all six speed manual, I believe. They did a showdown on sport trucks on "Trucks!". They compared SRT 10, Ford Lightning, Chevy SS, and J. Gibbs SS.

SRT 10 was the big fav. Lightning came second, then Gibbs then way, way behind came the SS.

They said the Gibbs SS will give the Lightning a run for the $$. They also said that Ford is pissed about losing the fastest production truck title to Dodge, so for '05 the are going to release a 500+HP Lightning SVT. That would be my choice.

The Chevy SS, they said, was little more than a ground effects kit and a somewhat better sport suspension.

from what I have read on the gibbs trucks is that you can get them in a several different config's. reg cab or extended cab, auto or manual tranny and any color. The most popular and easiest to get is the black ext. cab manual tranny. I think I saw it speed channel?
