Yo. I just got a 77 Lincoln Versailles with a 135hp (bleh) 351 Windsor engine and an automatic. I wish to build a drag car out of it. Obviously the engine has crap compression, so I was wondering if it would be a better idea to keep the low compression and supercharge it, or try to keep it NA and bump up the compression.
I'm aiming for 450-500hp and at least 13s, preferably 11s or 12s. I want to spend as little money as possible and blow as few parts as possible. Thanks for the help.

500 hp is definitely doable with an NA 351. First thing you're going to want to pick out though is a good trans, I have a feeling that the lincoln trans isn't what you want.

ya, im definitely gonna have to get a new C4 auto. I don't want a stick for consistency reasons, and the stock C4 would get pulverized by that much power. A C6 would be nice, but it prolly wont fit in the well.

good, then I'd look at rebuilding the engine for a compression somewhere around 10.5:1 with some good heads and intake manifold.
