i have an integra and live in japan. but can't seem to be able to find what type of engine i have. anybody have any engine pics and what engine type is it?Could be a LS, GSR, or Type R (of course LS and GSR are the american names that refer to that specific motor). Just look on the block, there is a flat plate at the edge where the motor meets the tranny; and that will tell you what motor you have. B18b for "LS", B18c w/black valve cover for "GSR", and B18c w/red valve cover for Type R.
And don't listen to these jackasses. Both of them are losers who has been making up usernames this past week and flooding the board. The people they are spoofing have a lot higher post counts, so you can tell which ones are real and which ones are faked.

if you really want to know, there is a flat plate at the edge where the motor meets the tranny. your engine code will be imprinted there

And don't listen to these jackasses. One of them is a loser who has been making up usernames this past week and flooding the board. And the other is either a racist, just too ignorant to realize that the comments he made in his first post were, or they're the same person as the other tool.
just look at the joined date. i would not post shit like he is. he is trying to assume my name and make it look like me.

If you want to post some pictures of the engine, go for it! Someone here may be able to tell just by looking at the valve cover or something.

What year is your car? What model is it? (IE GS-R, R, LS, GS, RS) If you do not know, look at your title. If it is in Jap, then post your vin #. Are you on Hansen, Swab, Foster, Courtney, ect, ect?

I knew the username looked familiar for some reason. I'll change it to the way it should be.

You must upload it to the net first. You can do this on AF. Click on the gallery link at the top. You can do a search in this forum to get more details. (Mods, notice how I refrained from just posting "SEARCH" like an asshole) Rehabilitation.

The picture is horrible, take another one. I can tell you it's not a b18c of any kind. It looks like it might even be a SOHC which does not come in 94+ Integras. This would mean you got ripped off. Take new picture.

CivicSpoon
10-16-2004, 02:13 PM
Yeah it is a SOHC, I'm guessing it's a ZC.

that's definitely not a teg engine
looks like the stock motor in an EK dx/lx
it's SOHC and i thought all tegs came with dual cams

remember this is a japanese honda integra. what engine type is it? anybody definitely know what it is?

-logan-

Even in Japan, all 94-01 Integra's came with a DOHC. This means someone took your good DOHC engine out and put a suck ass SOHC engine in it. A SOHC can be a good platform, but not in an Integra, there to heavy. Sorry, but you got screwed!

PS. DOHC=dual overhead cam/SOHC=single over head cam.

CivicSpoon

Sorry but you guys are wrong, even up to at least '99 the Integra in Japan came with a SOHC ZC motor, even a 4wd version.
But the only way to be positive is to look at the plate on the motor that will tell you what the engine code is. It's a flat plate where the block meets the transmission. It's not a red plate (at least shouldn't be), and it's right on the front of the block. Like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/CivicSpoon/plate.jpg
Maybe that is the plate you found, but it should say something more that just numbers on it. And that hole above it in the pic should have black piece of rubber sticking out of it, and not jsut open.

10-17-2004, 01:03 PM
I think the red plate is the plate on the transmission look a few more inches to the right its not a plate like that its imprinted INTO the block.

10-17-2004, 04:26 PM
if its a 94 would it be the ZC or could it be the D16Z like in civics? or is that only in our civics over here and they all have the SOHC ZC.

but since that is the case youd be REALLY happy with a swap now.

They made an Integra ZC engine after 93? I don't think they did. I think someone might have screwed our fellow AF member. Look on the bright side, you got stationed on an air station. Lucky bastard.

so if i do have an sohc zc then which kind of headers should i buy ? headers that fit on the acura integra would they fit on this one?

I don't know then? The picture clearly shows a SOHC engine, and I didn't know Integra had any SOHC after 1993. Give me a minute, and I'll try and look it up on the Net.

CivicSpoon
10-18-2004, 12:26 PM
yup it's the stock motor: http://asia.vtec.net/specs/integra/97spec_integra.html
This was taken from the official Honda website.

b18 ls
10-18-2004, 12:54 PM
Yes. I saw that website, but again, his car is a '94. The last year I saw a single over head cam ZC in an Integra was the '93 DB generation. Show me a '94+ integra ZC! SOHC ZC!

CivicSpoon
10-18-2004, 01:10 PM
That link is for a '97 integra. Here click on 1997 and 1999 and you'll see the link I put up and the 1999 one both with ZC's http://asia.vtec.net/specs/integra/

Not to be a asshole about this, but I couldn't find that info anywhere else on the web. Are we sure that isn't a mistake. I also spent 12 months in Japan and never saw such nonsense. True I didn't look under every hood, but I looked under my fair share.

CivicSpoon
10-18-2004, 11:42 PM
I don't know. Did you see this at the bottom of the '97 page: "Huh?? ZC is a SOHC?? Oh well, that's what the Honda of Japan website says..." And also not many people knew a d15b vtec even existed until hmotorsonline.com and other sites started selling it, so you never really know. And here's a link I found searching for "honda integra Ti" in google: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/631712 It's got a stock SOHC (though it doesn't say it's a ZC).

so if this is the case are there any aftermarket headers for an integra that will also fit on this carr too?? anybody know

Does your car have the same front end as this one, or does it have the quad headlights. (Four little circles)
