2000 camry LE I4 air intakeNight Speed 10-14-2004, 10:25 PM i looking for intake for my 2000 camry LE I4 which brand made for my car? and what is cold air intake? thanks Bossman 10-15-2004, 06:22 AM I just put a K&N air filter panel in my 03 4-cyl. Camry and I like it a lot. It's more cost effective than anything. I don't feel any more power except high up in the rpm band and I don't go there much. I do get a little better gas mileage with it though. I paid roughly $35 for it and if you compare that with about $15 every six to twelve months for an OEM then one is way ahead of the curve with the K&N. gujuchokra 10-16-2004, 09:54 PM I have the same car w/ the same engine. I did find an intake on e-bay for about $35 but was not a perfect fit at all it was by Bomz and is not smog legal. I had to do some customizations and had to remove it for the car to pass smog. If you really want to buy an intake for your camry then just go with the one that Injen sells or one that is sold by Weapon R that is a little bit cheaper than the Injen one. Both of them go about up to $200. They are only Short Ram, this means that they replace your stock plastic cover intake and have an alluminium pipe with a filter at the end and is just as long as your stock one. The Cold air intake has a longer pipe and go down up to the radiator fan and below to get the colder air although these are better but during rain the water will go into the engine and you know this is not good for the engine at all. You don't need to worry about the cold air intakes for your camry since they don't sell any. So search around on the net and find the cheapest one just be careful for the bogus ones. I saw on e-bay that they are selling an Injen one you might wanna check it out. Night Speed 10-18-2004, 02:47 AM thanks a lot  i just got Injen short ram intake $150. is pretty good rpm is higher. dschwartz46 10-21-2004, 01:52 AM I'm looking to get an Injen short ram for my 98 Camry 4-cyl. Look at his sig he has cold air intake. gujuchokra 11-18-2004, 01:59 PM the differences i noticed is RPM is little bit higher and when i step on gas pedal i can hear loud intake sound. didn't feel performance different If you want to feel the performance you will need to reset the ECU. In order to do this you will have to disconnect the battery cables for i think about 3 minutes. U just have to disconnect the positive one from your battery. This will allow the computer to recognize the new intake and lemme know how it acts after you reconnect it and take if for a test drive. You will want to be well grounded when you do this since static can mess up the system, so just be REALLY REALLY careful when you do this. JUST TRY NOT TO GET A TICKET WHEN YOU ARE HAULING AFTER. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
