Rear marker light on 1997 Camrywillhere 10-14-2004, 08:19 PM My rear marker light has gone out causing the light failure icon on the dash to light up. Seems like a simple problem to solve. I opened the trunk and removed the cover for the rear tail light asssembly. The socket for this bulb came out reasonable easy. I have a replacement bulb (T194) ready, but am stymied by the old bulb. It won't come out of its plastic socket. I think it should pull straight out (w/o twisting) but it won't budge. Rocking side to side doesn't help. Is there something I am missing or do I just need to apply more muscle? Thanks, Will Joe W 10-14-2004, 09:28 PM It does just pull straight out,but this usually don't trigger the dash light.Double-check all of the brake lights. camry99cw 10-15-2004, 12:56 PM am interested in how to extract stuck bulbs also. it has happened to me, and i suspect most people over time. a friend said he successfully used a penetrating lubricant (eg liquid wrench) and it worked for him. (your mileage may vary) don't know what the long terms effects are of that stuff on the contacts. Mike Gerber 10-15-2004, 01:42 PM I would simply try wearing a rubber glove to pull the bulb out. It should give you a better grip then your fingers alone, which usually have some of your skin's own oils on them. Try not to squeeze the bulb too hard as you don't want to break it and cut your fingers on the broken glass. Mike vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
