60K Service on 2001 Trooperashbypa 10-13-2004, 08:22 PM I'd like to do a bunch of the 60K service stuff myself, but have a few questions - any help would be appreciated. 1)"Change Transfer case oil" - looking at the transfer case chapter (in the manual)I am missing where the drain and fill points are.... 2)"check shift on the fly system gear oil" - where is that? otherwise I've got it covered. I haven't actually gotten under the car yet, but I am trying to be prepared. Thanks A travelman 10-14-2004, 10:10 AM If you have TOD that is your transfer case. In my owner's manual it makes it seem as though you have a TOD unit AND a separate transfer case. Again, though you either have one or the other. As for the drain and fill holes in it, take off the skid plate. The plugs will be clearly visible facing the rear. The SOTF unit is the funny looking thing on the driver's side of the front axle. The fill/drain plug faces the rear. Do you plan to change or at least pull and antisieze the spark plugs? If you wait to 100k as per the manual you might be in for a nasty surprise as they do tend to weld in place. What about changing the AT fluid, assuming you have one? If you wait too long on this one that too can cause some problems. ashbypa 10-14-2004, 08:02 PM I have already replaced the sparks. I plan to replace all the fluids - diff's, trans and tod. I'll check for the sotf this weekend. Thanks Andrew vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
