Disabling ABS On 99 SileradoMork 10-13-2004, 11:01 AM Is there any way to do this without having to put up with the nuisence ABS light? I was also told if you pull the fuse, the brake light will illuminate also. Any truth to this? Thanks. rsatter22 10-13-2004, 01:54 PM With the fuse pulled both the ABS and Brake indicator lights glow. Add the high beam and cruise control, at night my dash looks like a Christmas tree. Rick sc_customs 10-14-2004, 12:48 AM I had my ABS module go out on me about a year ago. 2 weeks afterwards, the ABS light and e-brake light on my dash were driving me nuts. So I took out my cluster, peeled back the top of the gauge face and put some electrical tape over the two holes the lights illuminate through. Fixed that problem...sorta :icon16: Mork 10-14-2004, 05:11 AM Anyone know if disabling the ABS affects the "Auto" 4 wheel drive mode? I suspect the wheel sensors have a role in this. jeverett 10-14-2004, 08:35 AM Auto 4wd is nothing more than a buch of clutches in the T-case, the wheel sensors might detect wheelspin or something, but other than that, I dunno. rsatter22 10-14-2004, 11:42 AM My Auto 4WD still seems to function since the ABS controller died about 2 years ago. Rick scrt79 10-16-2004, 08:23 AM you can pull the fuse, and you can also climb under the truck on the drivers side and disconnect the wires from teh actual unit itself, we've had soem trucks come in and the motor is still pumping away, makes such a loud racket LOL, so we just unplug the unit on the rail, and pull the fuse... TA DA!!! lol Zilos 09-27-2007, 11:25 PM I had my ABS module go out on me about a year ago. 2 weeks afterwards, the ABS light and e-brake light on my dash were driving me nuts. Sonny01 09-28-2007, 06:30 PM I have a question for you...is the 99 panel like a 2000? If so my ABS light is part of the Message Center and if I covered mine up then I wouldn't be able to see if something really important came up...like "Stop Engine It's Gonna Blow" maxwedge 09-28-2007, 07:17 PM Gentlemen did any one look at the age of this thread, start a new one please. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
