Why do OEM wheels balance better than custom wheels?jberenyi 10-12-2004, 08:25 PM I own a new Suburban with American Racing wheels and 285 size tires. When I go 65 to 75 I can definitely feel the shakes. These babies have been balanced twice and road force balanced but they still don't perform very well. Is it because of the 285 size (stock is 245) or do mags just suck after 55 MPH in general. This whole situation has got me so pissed off I'm thinking of going back to OEM. Tell me your thoughts on this matter. PS. My new mags are even hub centric like they should be. John Grant@Tirerack 10-13-2004, 11:04 AM If the wheel is constructed correctly and is hub centric, there should be no balance issues. It would have to be the tires. Most shops with road force balancers can check the wheel for run out before they mount the tires. If they did that (which should be standard procedure) I'd be looking at the tires. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
