Hello, I've got a 1992 leg awd wagon. The shifts are a little slow, getting bubbles in the a/t fluid and it's getting that high rpm whine (that paper gasket/valve between the tranny pump and the tranny?).
Questions 1) Any 1st thoughts from anyone? 2) Thoughts on converting a/t to manual? (costs, problems, etc)
Thanks !!!!!!!!

it is possible to switch from AT to MT. many people over on Nasioc.com have done it. The main thing is that the ratios in the rear differential are different for a AT and a MT. Its a lot of work, but if you really want to do it go for it!

It would probably be easier and cheaper to sell the car and by a 5 speed car.

yes...like mentioned you would save the time and hassle to just trade in your auto for a manual.

the ratio's in the rear diff are not always different. Some AT's had 3.900 or 4.111 diffs, and some MT's also had 3.900 or 4.111 diffs
