Hey Gang, just drove home the '04 CrewCab/2500HD/6.0/Shortbed.
The rims/tires are WEAK !! Ha-ha !!

So, gotta get something to fill up the wheelwell...

The largest I can fit on the Stock 16"rims is:
265/75/16 -even then, ya gotta raise the front about 3/4" to clear (accordign to Les Schwab)

------------
So.. I'll lift it 3"
------------

Going to 18"s - (and my 3" lift), what is the largest/widest tire I can fit?

The search didn't bring up anything, -is there a chart out there somewhere?

Thanks,
~Rob

if you're just gonna stay with the 265/75/16 you don't need to raise the front or make any mods. they will clear and fit nicely.

Well, in case anyone is thinking of lifting their Silverado...

It's not worth it to lift it only 4" $2400.00 at Les Schwab
You have to lift it 6" ($2100.00) to put on 35" or larger tires.

I'm going to go the cheapest route here and buy some
BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A Radials (around $170.00/ea)

295/75/16 (33.2 overall diameter)
- or -
the 18" rim version 285/65/18 (32.8 dia)

No lifting involved. Les Schwab will trim the front fender and raise the torsion bars for 50 bucks -then the 33's I listed above will *just* fit.

So that will keep the cost under 900 for tires, and hopefully I can get (4) nice 18 rims used for under 1000.00.
