HELP! I have a '98 Camaro, V6. I just replaced the spark plugs with Bosch Platinum 4 and took off the throttle body, cleaned it, and replaced the gasket. It ran fine for a while, but now it is running rough off and on and the service engine light came on. Any suggestions?

take it to autozone and have it scanned, the service engine light means the computer has detected a problem and stored a code, the scan will pinpoint your problem and you can perform the necessary repair from there.

Thanks, I appreciate the help. I thought I'd have to take it to the dealer and spend a fortune to find out what was wrong, but they shouldn't charge too much at Autozone.

from what i've heard from the ppl here, autozone doesn't charge anything because you'll most likely buy the new part from them.

And, thanks for the welcome. I'm glad I found this site. I'm going to enjoy it. I also have a '67.

i would double check all your connections. make sure that you plugged all your sensors back in, and then check your plug wires. make sure you have the correct wire going to the correct cylinder, its very easy to mix up the wires on the DIS...

FYI, I took our 95 V6 to Autozone for code scan and after several scan attempts the AZ counterman could not get a connection to computer. I don't know if it's operator error, but I'm going to another AZ location to see if I get the same result.

94 & 95 F-bodys use OBD-1 systems which AutoZone doesn't scan and they also Don't use the service engine light flash method. Your best bet is to bring your car to a dealership or private shop with tech one scan tool or similiar device

if the car is stored for long periods of time you could have some build up in the injectors, you can either pour some fuel injector cleaner in the tank or replace the injectors

I worked at autozone and it is absolutely free to run the OBDII now they have a new one out that checks everything while your car is running and your service light doesn't have to be on it checks timing, fuel ratio, rpm, tells u what your tps is running at your O2 sensor etc........also it checks later models some u have to have an alternate 12v power source to plug into the OBDII
