Does anyone know (preferably 1st hand) how an engine will hold up over time with a super charger installed. I am considering the purchase of a 04 or 05 Z and have a super charger installed right away, but I will be using the Z for weekend trips and perhaps one or two days a week to work (60 miles a day). Will it be ok to drive the car in a normal fashion with a super charger? I am chosing a SC over a turbo for two reasons, 1) Stillen SC seems easy to install with little adjusting
2) When I mess around it's with short take offs from a light (as opposed to high speed curves).

Anyway, my main concern is if the engine will hold up under normal driving over time. All input greatly appreciated.

I'd go with turbo instead, it only works when you floor it.

The Greddy TT is the only way to go.

For what your wanting to do, it's a premo idea. Like you said easer to install, and it has a much wider power band. If you want to upgrade ask'em about a pulley change and Water/alky injection.

supercharger is one way to go. you can make up to 350hp on the 350z with stock internals for about $3k or spent $6k on the greddy TT and make about the same power with stock internals. $3k difrence your choice.

Please tell me where your getting these numbers from? I own one of these cars and what you said above is so far out of wack with what I've experanced I'd like to know your source of information.

I Used To Owned A 350z Performance Model So I Did Alot Of Research Before About It Too. I Have A Mag. Where It Shows The 1/4 Mile Time For Both Cars And The S2000 Is Barely Faster.

TURBO, MORE POWER BUT IN ORDER TO GET THAT POWER YOU HAVE TO BEEF UP THE INTERNALS

The cool thing about superchargers is, that for what you are wanting it is perfect. No spool up time makes it great for short stints. The power is there, and that is just cool. I also like the supercharger whine. ooooooooooooh! P.S. I am not bashing turbos. I love turbos. I work on turbos. I own a modded turbo car. But having said that. The supercharger is for you. I would look into the Stillen stage 2 sc w/ic you get warranty on your powertrain still and as soon as that is gone buy a $90 pulley to make it a stage 3 system.

I drove a car with a turbo kit that gave huge gains of power, and here is where the turbo is better then the supercharger. Supercharger gives less power but it gives it constantly, while the turbo has its lags but gives out huge power. Well I drove supercharged cars and turbocharged cars before and here is where i felt the different. Supercharge doesn't give out the feeling of boost. Because its always there, but with the turbo you can actually feel the boost. I can actually see and feel the extra power going into your wheel. That is where the supercharger and the turbocharger is different. For drag racers, yes a supercharger would be awsome since it gives power from start to end, but a turbocharger you need to spool up. but we arn't talking about drag just street daily driving, so i guess if you want the supercharger then go for it. If i was you i would go with a turbocharger, but thats just me =D
