Dynamat extreme is spendy, but will definatly cut out a lot of road noise, worth the weight IMO. Also, a premolded carpet WILL svae you headaches. If you are trying to carpet it with what you have, you'll have to peice a cut and sew carpet...cut the individual patterns for each section. You'll cut different pieces for the floor pans, the sides of the tranny hump, the top of it, etc..Then cut the carpet to the patterns, snd sew binding around the edges. Glue it down. You have to make sure the patterns are correct too, or you'll end up with little gaps. Cut and sew carpet can look nice and higher end, lots of hot rods use them. However, they are harder to do. By far the easiest way to do it if you have no experience is a molded carpet kit. www.accmats.com However, if you insist on usng your carpet, it can be done, but you'll have to do a cut and sew carpet. Carpet padding/sound deading foam for cars is pretty cheap, like $10 a roll yard most, if you can find it and want to use it. My boss has found this water heater insulation very useful for all this, it's from home depot of all places. He just did a white 47 or 57 chevy pick-up in it for sound deading, etc for a customer.
