I've never had it at high speeds long enough to see the mileage when the 4-barels open up, but I think it would be measured in gallons per mile then. I used 3/4 of one tank (roughly 15 gallons) going about 10 miles at full throttle. I know that doesn't seem possible, but unless there was a one time guage malfunction, it happened. It's just a good thing I got dual tanks on it. I'm sure that no one on this forum would ever drive exsesive speeds! I had to make a long drive, and din't have much time to get there... plus I had my CB on 19 listening for bear traps, and traffic in the SLOW lane was going probably 90 except for the occasional RV... those were some sudden bottlenecks :eek7: I do have an update for both trucks. My Silverado is now getting close to 15 (acetone added to gas), and my S-10 is getting ~25 city and as high as 30.09 highway (65mph going up and down rolling hills). I'll add acetone to that and see if I can get it to 35. fredjacksonsan 06-07-2005, 04:00 PM At 15000 miles, my 04 Dodge V6 5 speed is getting 21.5mpg hwy if I take it easy, and about 20.3 at 70-75mph highway. city is running about 17.5. illegal_eagle187 07-06-2005, 09:08 PM 1989 Ford F-150 4.9 I-6 2WD gets about 15 city/17 highway :disappoin OverBoardProject 07-06-2005, 09:16 PM 1989 Ford F-150 4.9 I-6 2WD gets about 15 city/17 highway :disappoin My girlfriends 92 gets about 25mpg with the same FI motor, and 5 speed I got 30+ mpg with my old 63 Ford 1/2 ton with the optinal 262 I-6 motor, with the 3 speed manual transmission.
