Hey,
I am looking into putting new tires on my truck and wondering if anybody has 265/70/16 on there truck and how they look, ride, run, Handle?
Is this tire to big? Should I go with a smaller one?

All help is appreciated.

265's are good. I think that's about as big as I would go before the truck got too tall or the tires began to rub the inner fenders.

i have a 1998 2 wheel drive ram 1500 i put 265-70-16's and they work great, i did notice a little loss of low end, not much to care about but on the highway you get better gas millage and one thing i havent done is have my speedo reset. when it says im doing 65 im actually doing 75. no biggie though.

I have 265/75 16's on my 20001 4x4, and they are fine. We work w/ 2001 1500 4x4 that has 285/75-16's and they seem to be ok. Both are factory sized but different for some reason.

Speedo reset I believe you'll need to have the computer reprogrammed.

I have a 98 4x4, and the stock size was 265/75R-16's and I went up to a 285/75R-16's. I have a problem with the drivers side tire rubbing on the upper forward suspsion arm but only when I turn all the way to the left and I really never do but I am in the middle of trying to find a replacement arm at the moment.

BTW, that size (285) looks a lot better for the 4x4, makes it look fuller and like it was suppose to be there.

Do the 285s fit on the same rims as the 265s? I've got a 99 1500 4x4 SLT with 265s and I want to put on 285s. I was told they would fit on the rims, but they might rub a little. It looks like there's plenty of room in the wheel well for them. Anybody have any suggestions on good A/T tires? I'm looking at Dunlop Radial Rovers or Bridgestone Dueler APC III.

Yes. 265's and 285's fit on the same rim, they are both 16" tires on a 16" rim. The 265/285 refers to how high the tire is AFTER it comes off the rim. I worked in the tire industry for 7 years, so stay away from the Dunlop tire!!!! The Bridgestone is good along with any of the Firestone brands (Bridge/Firestone are the same). The 285 might rub a bit depending on the suspension.
