Looking to get into Solo Racing... for now...xivera 02-16-2002, 08:55 PM Ok, it goes like this... I talked w/ some people representing the Chicago region SCCA at CAS on Friday. I gave some info to be on a mailing list as well as took some info (brochures and the like)... I will be getting 16" Kosei Racing Senecas (my 1st choice from the very beginning) rims and some performance all-season tires via Tire Rack. It seems that I will be getting Bridgestone RE910s since they are performance all-season tires which I have on the stock 14" steelies. I just want a good-looking setup that will take me to the track, work for me on the track and take me around Chicagoland (even during winter). Is this stupid? I have been wanting rims for the longest time... so much so it hurts... :( Any opinions on these rims? http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/images/kosei/swap/kos_race_seneka_w_ci3_l.jpg If someone has recommendations on a lighter wheel which is very similar, pls. go ahead and say so. It would also be nice to supply a place where to get them... igo4bmx 02-17-2002, 01:22 PM i hear kosei K1's are pretty light.. what about those 15 inch rotas? velox makes vx-8r rims which are 17 lbs for 16 inches.. not bad i guess xivera 02-17-2002, 05:33 PM Originally posted by igo4bmx i hear kosei K1's are pretty light.. what about those 15 inch rotas? velox makes vx-8r rims which are 17 lbs for 16 inches.. not bad i guess Yeah, I was also looking at those K1s on Tire Rack... $100 more but, I'd like to have a white wheel w/ polished lip. Moreover, I'd prefer a 7 spoke rim. And, 15's isn't much to look at imho. Also, the VX-8Rs may be a good choice but, it doesn't fit what I have mentioned already. igo4bmx 02-17-2002, 05:37 PM Originally posted by xivera Yeah, I was also looking at those K1s on Tire Rack... $100 more but, I'd like to have a white wheel w/ polished lip. BondVT 02-17-2002, 06:17 PM Those wheels are sharp! Do look at the Rotas. Inexpensive, and lightweight to boot!
