I am possibly getting a set of Rota wheels, and I just wanted to find out if there are any quality issues with them? Any input is welcome, let me know if you have a set, if you like them, how durable they have been, etc. Thanks guys!

Slipstreams or....?

You pay for what you get... And, Rotas are pretty cheap.
They're not perfect... I read that a guy broke his Rotas on another board. :(

slipstreams

A guy broke them!? What do you mean "broke"? How did he do it?

Anyway, I liked them because they are cheap and still light, two very desirable features to me. :D

That's what I'm saying! Does this guy want this or that? Or, maybe... :D

The guy drove them hard on a pothole-ridden street...

piscorpio should get one 16" vx-8r, 1 roteslipstream, 1 kosei K1, and one RH cp-035.... then he will be happy!

HAHAHAHA!!! You guys know me too well. Theres just too many choices!

Velox - I think Id rather go with 15" so these get ruled out, plus igo4bmx stole my thunder on these. :D

Racing Harts - Way too expensive, I dont think Ill be spending that much on wheels for a while...maybe if I get a second job.

Kosei - I actually never really liked these, ya they're light and cheap, but....

Rotas - seem to be right on for me (at this time anyway) they are cheap, they come 15", they're light, and they look pretty good (at least I think so, and i can get them in bronze, which is the color Ive been wanting for a while)

You guys happy now! :flipa:

So xivera, getting back to what you said, how did this guy "break" his Rota slipstreams?

I too have been looking at the Rotas, namely the Sub-zero. Good looking wheel. $100/wheel in 15" variety too. :D

But what actually happened to the wheel? Bent rim, broken spoke, did it just explode on contact? :D

Hey Beyond Imagination, where did you order yours, and how much did they cost if you dont mind me asking?

Side note: igo4bmx, did you ever post pics of the vx-8r's on your car?

I actually got mine off eBay ... I paid a little too much for them $475 shipped ... I found out a day after I bought them that I can get them for $400 shipped somewhere else ... If you're interested I can direct you to a person you can talk to ...

I have the C8s, they are pretty nice wheels for the price. The powder coating finish is a little easy to scratch if you arent careful, and they dont have a huge selection when your talking about offset which means you might have rubbing issues.. But Id pay another set.

Is car stuff really cheaper where i live?

I got my Rota Mantis 17's for less than 270 (yes, that's 4 of them), plus Bridgestone Potenza S02 Pole Position 215/40ZR17's for like 380 (of course 4 of them, too). What does that come out to...67.50 per wheel and 95 per tire? Nice, huh?

Everytime I ask about something and include the price, people always say it's a steal. Did you know i could get Splitfire Triple Platinum plugs here for $8 each?

Damn, this is so cool. :D

MANILA, PHILIPPINES. Great beaches and babes, too!:D
Filipinos who live abroad actually tell relatives who visit to buy car stuff here. There's a stretch called Banawe Street that'll make you piss with delight. Ask any car-loving Flip, if you know any. I think Xivera is one, right, Xiv?;)

I don't know about turbos, but here's another one to make you drool:
A guy i recently met chucked a TYPE R engine into his 5th gen Civic.
Cost of engine: 5000. He had it turboed afterwards, too.
Is that cheap or what? :D

Not anytime soon... but, my bro and my Dad are going this Apr/Mar.
Perhaps, I should ask them to pick up something from Banawe St.?

Nah, not unless you are buying! I am pretty much tapped out right now, so I won't be buying any new goodies for awhile. I do still have a few loose ends to tie up before I start saving for the turbo. (slotted rotors, new pads, possibly an exhaust, rear strut ties.) Maybe the next trip!! :D

Ohhhh... You thought that I meant that I should get them to get something for you!? Yeah, right! :D I was thinking getting something for myself but, I wouldn't know what...
Anyway, I'm tapped also... sorta...
