99.99% of every single damn post ever made about some new person and/or company bringing Skylines to the U.S. has been pure B.S. on AF and other Forums.

Working with GT-R's on a daily basis I also hear complete B.S. on a regular basis. Not to mention people's ridiculous theories on how to "scam" the system or shortcuts. So if I come across as just a little sceptical with a side order of callousness you can bite me.

I would LOVE to see a cheaper alternative to get my GT-R back to the states as well as other cars. I would sell a TON more high-end cars if that were the case. But the fact is that most people are just full of hot air when it comes down to doing business and that's just the way things are. But hey, if you want to just put full stock in everything you hear... go right ahead. I'm the last person to tell anyone how to think.

There WAS an r33 for sale at Auto Gallery Seattle.....but when I talked to an agent he said that it was most likley being bought for some kid by his parents (rich parents dont know what theyre getting into.... :screwy:). he told me all about the guy and how he just got his lisence blah blah present for his 16th birthday blah blah and tha they were faxing the mothers credit reports over that same day. week later it was gone :/.

you have no clue how bad that car would drive if it ever got put together. Skyline bodies are like glass. one hit and you're fucked. i've gone thru 2 now. I had a friend that was drifting and he went over a 6" curb and totaled his shit because the body bent. Don't waste your time on a project like that just because it's a skyline. get an RB26 and drop it in something, it's a lot easier to do, it will drive better, be somewhat legal and cheaper.

the only way they couldve even possibly been able to legalize skyline is that if they somehow using the similarity of the name, piggybacked onto motorex's developments to the government...posing as an east coast broker or something of that nature. not only would that have been extremly difficult, but extremly illegal. and it seems as though they might have tried it seeing as how they made the names so similar not only in how you say it, spell it, but how you see it as well. MotoRex and MotoRx could easily be mistaken by some sleepy DOT agent or something. eh. either way, they cant do it so i dont know why people bother with this kind of crap.

JCsaleen, we arent trying to be dicks, youve been here long enough to know the facts and im amazed that this happened to you. we are just meerly pointing out how easily young kids step in cow pies.

if you did check out his r33, thats fantastic for you and him. but the fact is if he didnt go through motorex, the car is illegal. and im sure i can speak for many members on this forum, that if we could get a skyline w/o going through motorex, we would. but at this point thats the only way. we all could get a car in illegally, but the risk is too great. i wouldnt want to go to jail for that, or pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines, and have the car crushed on top of that. the car is so hard to get for us, that we dont want to risk loosing it once we get it. and for ever car that gets sent to the crusher, thats one less car on the market for us to buy legally, and you can gaurentee that once the existence of skylines drops below 100, the prices WILL go up and things will be even more expensive for us. this is the only reason that keeps us wanting to go 100% legal and legit on this deal.

Do we have anyone close to the NHTSA, besides Sean (not that I think we would NEED anyone else, but he is always rather busy....), who would be able to alert us as to whether another RI were to become active? I've seen a couple things in the last few days that would seem to imply a new RI, although, as I also know from experience, this is typically a goose chase....I'm going to check the NHTSA website momentarily, then perhaps call them on monday just to verify.

the local shop here(st.louis MO) has a r34 skyline....i asked them if they went through motorx they said no....iv seen it, it was at nopi nationals and they are sponsored by toyo. So i dont know if its street legal, i think not but, they do take it to shows across the nation and they sneak it out on the roads every once in a while. Im a noob to this "legality" shit....so is it legal to have it for just a show liscense or some shit??? sorry i know its old thread but i didnt think making a new one would be any better.....so in this case its the first case in history where a revive thread was beneficial...lol not really.

If the car is owned by a company and is registered in their name...it IS possible to drive it legally without going through Motorex. There are certain restrictions on annual mileage and such, but that is about it. It just has to have corporate sponsorship.

The other members are correct about the production XJ220 having a twin turbo V6. Only the one-off concept used the V12, and a normally aspirated one at that, not forced induction like jcsaleen said.
