Hi, my dad's 97 Atro's thermostat went out yesterday and he is going to try to fix it himself. Any hints/tips or how hard is this to do. He has the V6 (i dont know if thats the only engine in this year). If you have any diagrams could you post them? Thanks

It's pretty easy to replace. The stat is under a two bolt housing the connects the upper radiator hose to the top of the engine, in the front. Pull off the housing and replace the stat. The most difficult job is scraping the old gasket off of the engine to make sure the new gasket seals well. I'd recommend a gasket adhesive and sealer on the new gasket to keep it in place during reassembly. Also, I think the V-6 is the only engine offered in this Astro model year.
