Looking for a little input..shawson 10-07-2004, 08:19 AM Hello all.. Im thinking of picking up a 1994 318i . The car has 111000 mi. on it. 4cyl / 5 speed. Anyone have any good / bad points I should watch for? Also the deal that I was looking at is.. Trade in ---> 1999 Pontiac Grand AM with 210,000 KM, in fairly brutal shape + $4000 CAD. Gets me the car. Its loaded with leather seats, 5spd with 1yr PT warranty.. ?? shawson 10-10-2004, 12:41 AM Well, after all the great input ;) I decided to go with the car.. I have had it for a few days and LOVE it so far. I was able to figure all the toys but 1.. WHAT THE HECK is the "memo" button??? Anyone have a clue? Tougeman 10-10-2004, 03:25 PM memo..like a voice memo i guess futball22 10-11-2004, 01:29 AM i think its for when you are talking on your cel phone and you want to voice record something instead of writing it on a piece of paper. Dont worry, i had the same response when i asked for opinions on buying a mid 90s 3-series, no one had anything to say. sandy08 10-13-2004, 04:53 PM Pressing the memo button will simply make your clock 'ding' at the top of each hour. When you press it you will see a small icon appear next to the clock readout. Not very exciting or useful for that matter. I have no idea why they called it 'memo' since it really does nothing of the sort. When I first bought mine I thought it was some kind of recorder as well. However, I read thru the manual and that's what it said. You would think the BMW techno-weenies could have come up with something a little more useful than that. It's still a nice car but that button is pretty much worthless. :disappoin shawson 10-13-2004, 11:03 PM True enough.. I started hearing some beeping about every hour. Once I pressed the button the ")))" lights went out and that was that. You also mentioned manual.. Would you by any chance remember how to set the clock / date? I tried every combo including pressing and holding. There is a "set" button but I couldn't seem to adjust the settings.. If you could recall or look it up in the manual that would really help :) Thanks for the reply! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
